Dedicated to the memory of Ros Davies

Thanks for taking the time to visit my memory page.
I moved to live and teach in Greece at the start of September 2017 and things were ticking along nicely, but as life has a habit of doing, I had a BIG wake up call just round the corner.
On the morning of June 12th I had a call from my brother who told me that my mum had passed away during the night. At that point my world fell apart. I flew back straight away to be with my family.
The diagnosis was an asthma attack with the complication of bronchial pneumonia. She had been sat out the back garden the previous night nattering with the neighbours, so it was very unexpected and sudden. We were told she went to sleep and never woke up, she wouldn't have felt any pain, her airways just closed up.
It was so hard walking into my parents house and not seeing my mum there and greeting us on the doorstep - she always watched out for us arriving and opened the door so my 2 daughters could run in and give her the best cwtches (welsh for hugs).
We organised her funeral and my brother Paul and I decided that we would be the only readers at the funeral. How we had the strength I will never know, but we did and I believe that she was the one who instilled the strength and courage in us as we were growing up.
I miss her every day, but she wouldn't have wanted me to close down and hide away, nor be too sad. Christmas was really tough and during that time I decided to take on a challenge that would have made her proud.
I've decided to cycle the Paris-Roubaix race in April and raise funds for Asthma UK. Basically I'll ride 161km (100 miles) over some of France's toughest cobbled roads. I've never ridden that far and would love to think that I have lots of friends and family helping and encouraging me while I train and actually ride the race.

I don't ask for sponsors or charity very often but this one is one that I feel I have to do. Please help me, donate as little or as much as you can and feel free to add to my tribute page if you knew my wonderful mum. Pictures and memories would be fantastic.Thank you xx
